The Rescue Diver Course is designed to develop the necessary knowledge and skills for individuals to perform diver rescues and assists, manage diving accident situations, render proper first aid, and qualify for Divemaster training. Rescue Diver training is an important step in expanding a diver’s knowledge beyond a purely recreational level. Most divers say this is their favorite PADI course because of the amount of time in the water doing practical application relative to the book work.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios you will apply your knowledge and skills. Topics Include:
- Self Rescue
- Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
- Emergency management and equipment
- Rescuing unresponsive divers
- Rescuing panicked divers
WHAT YOUR SCHEDULE WILL LOOK LIKE:
This Course is conducted over 2 days and includes:
- 1 online eLearning
- 1 pool day (9:45am-5:30pm)
- 1 Open water day at local Southern California beaches.
*If local off-shore conditions are not optimal we may perform the open-water portion off of our diver excursion boat or on Catalina Island. Catalina Express and Dive Boat tickets are additional and not included in class tuition.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Prior to scheduling your classroom session and water work, you must have:
Completed PADI Medical Form
Completed Knowledge Reviews & Quizzes for each section in the PADI eLearning
Mask, snorkel, fins, booties and gloves (though optional, hoods are recommended)
Required Gear: SMB, Finger Reel, Slate with Pencil, Flashlight and a Knife or Cutting Tool (Ask about our student discount)
Transportation to/from In2Deep, the pool, and the Catalina Express/Dive Boat Docks
In addition, all certified divers participating in training are required to have Divers Alert Network (DAN) Diving insurance. Please provide proof of insurance prior to your class.

WHAT IN2DEEP WILL PROVIDE:
1 eLearning code
1 class and Pool Session
2 Open Water Training Dives
1 PADI Certification Card
*If needed- Catalina travel is not included.
WHO CAN TAKE THIS COURSE:
To enroll in this Course you must:
Be at least 15 years old
Have completed the Adventures in Diving Certification
Have at least 20 logged dives (one of which must be within the last six months)
Completed PADI Medical Form
Completed Knowledge Reviews & Quizzes for each section in the PADI eLearning
Have completed the PADI Emergency First Responder certification course within the last 24 months or have proof of an equivalent current certification such as CPR from the Red Cross.
*If you need to complete an EFR course, that certification is an additional $125 and is offered one evening during the week prior to the class.
